NCAA Women's Basketball. It's Going to Be a Good Year

I am a fan of Women’s Basketball and on November 11th I had the chance to see parts of three l games, including the one that Rutgers and Stanford played on Sunday evening. All I can say is; “These women are out to play.

The AP Number 4 ranked Maryland team played the 6th ranked team of Oklahoma. Oklahoma does have the makings of a good team, however Maryland made them look like an unranked one. The game was never as close as the final score showed it to be. And it wasn’t until late in the game that Oklahoma’s Courtney Paris was able to make her 63rd consecutive Double-Double.

The game did show that the Oklahoma girls has plenty of heart and there is no give up in them. They have some good freshmen players and some of the supporting players had good games including Courtney’s sister Ashley who had a career high 17 points. On Thursday Oklahoma gets to play the top ranked Tennessee Lady Vols.
The Rutgers/Stanford game was everything that it was advertised to be. Two fairly evenly matched teams, playing an even game until the end. And No it should not have ended the way that it did. Was there a foul at the end of the game? Probably!

It was a foul that easily and should have been ignored. Let them play another 5 minutes and see which team stepped forward. A close game like that should not have ended on such a note. it wouldn’t surprise me that these two teams play again in the NCAA tournament. Could even be the finals, we’ll just have to see.

I have started an informational blog for women’s basketball at wbbnews.wordpress.com. Join me thee if you too are a fan of the game. Even if you aren’t come by to see what’s happening. And the next time a game is on TV take a few minutes to watch some of the action. You’ll be impressed.

Anyway, on towards the season and let’s see some fantastic basketball.
