Harry Potter and The End of The Series

By Steven G. Atkinson | Jul 23, 2007

There are no spoilers in this review:

I will admit I was one of those who was waiting for the final book of the series.  Was I waiting for its release at 12:01 on Friday. No In fact I didn’t pick it up until mid day on Sunday and didn’t start reading it until later in the day.

I waited in part because I didn’t want to see the end and in part, well I’m not sure what else.

First let me say in total it’s a good book.  But one thing that is obvious it’s not seven books of a series, but one complete tale.  One that from the beginning to the end is a joy to read.  There are clues throughout the books that would make it probably best if one started at the beginning and go to the end in one very long reading.

I will say that the end was a bit disappointing, but one that was not unexpected.  When thinking back on the entire story, it couldn’t have really ended any other way.

But there are still plenty of unanswered questions.  But I suppose those questions didn’t matter much within the story.   And near the end you’ll learn a lot about Snape and whether he was good or bad or just misunderstood.  There’s also a revelation about another character that will shock some.

Read it to find the answer to those questions and at the same time you’ll wish the story could have been longer.
