Griffey Hits 600

By Steven G. Atkinson | Jun 10, 2008

Congratulations to to the Cincinnati Reds outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. who became the 6th man to reach the 600 homer club in Baseball.  He’s the third to do it this decade when it took over 100 years for the first three to make it.  Although I do think he is perhaps the only one of the three, Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa, who hasn’t done it under a cloud.

When I watched him play in the early 90′s I thought that he would be the one to come close to Ruth and Aaron, and had he not had those few injury filled years in his early 30′s who know we may have been talking about him being the most powerful hitter in baseball.
