Along with many others, I was struck dumbfounded with the unexpected death of NBC newsman Tim Russert. I watched Tim Russert on many Sunday mornings on Meet The Press, and he was one of the few people who I could listen to as they talked politics and not be bored and most times not become angry. I will miss him.
And with his death coming just before Father’s Day, I could not help but to think about his father and son. Two people that without doubt he loved with all of his heart. I can not think of anything worst that a father learning of the death of his son just a few days before Father’s Day.
This also got me to thinking about my Dad. He died a little over two years ago and while we had a very good father-son relationship, Father’s Day was not a big day for us. Every time we wer together it was Father’s Day. But this year I really missed my Dad.
