Change-Something to Think About

By Steven G. Atkinson | Oct 7, 2007

One of the key words in present day American Politics is that it’s a time for change.

Looking back to 1980 on the Republican Presidential ticket there was Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.  They won and ran again as a team in 1984.

In 1988 George H.W. Bush ran for President and won.  He ran again in 1992 against Bill Clinton and lost that election  primary because of his domestic policies and the recession of 1991.

Clinton ran again in 1996 and for the first time since 1980 there wasn’t a Bush on the Republican ticket.

But 2000 saw the rise of George W. Bush, son of George H.W. Bush.  He won, or as some feel stole the election from Clinton’s Vice President Al Gore.  Bush won another narrow election in 2004.

Now it’s time for the 2008 Presidential election is get into full swing and there’s not a Bush in sight.  But there is a Clinton, since Bill Clinton’s wife Hilary is running for the Democrat nomination and crying that there’s a time for change.

Question asked: How can a Clinton following a Bush for the 2nd time be a change?
