Instead of looking back on what happened yesterday, I am going to look ahead toward this weekend and what it really means.
To a few Memorial Day is just a day off from work to spend time with family and friends. But to others this day is used for observance of the memories of fallen soldiers. It would be wonderful if the last fallen was over 30 years ago with the end of the Vietnam war, but many have died since. It’s our duty to remember and honor those that were lost, in the past as well as those lost in the Middle East.
It doesn’t matter whether we agree with the policies of the leaders or not, we all should agree that those serving in the military are doing the job they have joined to do. No one wants to go to war, but they knew and understood that could occur.
We should support them. Support the families and join them in supporting the memories of those they have known and are no longer with us.
To all the families of those who have fallen over the years, I thank those who have given their all for the USA.
May we all be blessed, that they have fought the War for freedom.
