Yesterday at Denver the Colorado Rockies hosted the San Diego Padres for the 163rd game of their season. This was the play-in game to see who would be the Wild Card team for the National League
In case you didn’t stay up to the wee hours of the night (East Coast Time) the game was tied at 6-6 after the usual 9 innings. Fitting that they would end up tied after 9 after being tied during the year.
To make it short, the Rockies won in 13 completing what was in reality two amazing comebacks. the first came by winning 13 of their last 14 games to force the play-in game in the first place. The second was coming back from allowing a 2 run home run in the top of the inning to score three against the closer with the most career saves.
Go Rockies. Too bad they have to now play the Phillies, the other team that made an incredible come from behind run to win the Eastern Division. It’s just possible that the games still to be played may become the most exciting of the year.
