I live in Maryland and there are a couple of dates that those in Maryland don’t want to miss as it relates to the State’s Politics.
November 19, 2007 – This is the date 3 months before the Primary Election. It is also the last date that one can change party affiliation. So if you want to vote for one Republican Candidate over another and you happen to presently be a Democrat, get to your election office by 9PM to make that change.
December 3, 2007 – This is the last date that one can file to be a candidate. For minor elections such as School Boards this date is often missed. So if you want to run for an office this year, get a move o there’s only 2 more weeks remaining.
January 22, 2008 – Do you want to Vote in the Primary Election. This is the last date for you to register to vote if you aren’t already on the books. If you haven’t voted within the last 5 years, your name should have been removed so if in doubt check with your Elections Office to be sure you are still registered.
February 5, 2008 – Not going to be in the area on Election Day. Requests for an absentee Ballot are due by this date.
February 12, 2008 – Primary Election. Vote, it’s easy and it’s important.
