Cold Pizza, Fake Coke and Heroes

Cold Pizza
I have always felt that the name Cold Pizza was the perfect name for a morning sports show. Too bad that ESPN has decided to rename the show.

Other than the set and the location for the show, it moved from New York City to Bristol, CT, the show is the same. Same Hosts, same debate team but now it has a new name ESPN FirstTake.

OK, that’s not a bad name. For many it will be the first take on the sports events that happened the day before.

But doesn’t Cold Pizza just sound great. How many of us hasn’t gotten up the next morning, opened the fridge and pulled out a piece of Cold Pizza to munch on while turning on the TV to see how out favorite sports team did the night before? I know I have and I’m sure many others has as well.

GoodBye Cold Pizza. Hello FirstTake.

A New Coke
I hadn’t heard about it until today when it was announced that a new energy drink called Cocaine was being pulled off the market. Sometime I wonder why people think they can use names. Don’t they think before they leap. Of course folks would have concerns about calling a drink cocaine, when everyone knows cocaine is an addictive drug.

The drink has been marketed with statements like; statements “Speed in a Can,” “Liquid Cocaine” and “Cocaine — Instant Rush.”

I can see it now, the six year old child of a CokeHead saying, “Can I have some cocaine?” meaning the drink, but misunderstood by the parent and wow, that’s some cool stuff.

I wonder how Coca-Cola felt about it. They are the Real Thing and at one time was the real cocaine drink.

Heroes
One of the best, to me at least it is the best, shows to come out this television season has been NBC’s Heroes. Well not original, X-Men have had mutants saving the world for many year, it has been different and entertaining.

It has been doing a great job of hitting catch Phrases, “Save the Cheerleader, Save the World” or “Are you on the list?” or “Someone flies, Someone dies”.

Last weeks episode had plenty of those stunning scenes, but also gave those who may not have seen it a break. I imagine that those who missed last weeks wasn’t totally surprised by what happened tonight.

Sylar is looking for a reason to stop his evil ways and goes to the only person who could forgive him. His Mother. He is followed by Hiro and Ando, with Ando telling Hiro, kill him now while you have the chance. Hiro is following the plan as drawn in the comic book by Issac that says they meet 2 days later. When he tries he fails with Sylar breaking the sword.

The Heroes are converging on New York, with some of them beginning to realize that no matter how much they want to be, they are not normal.
