If you have been reading my posts over this past weekend, you’d know that I’ve been following Major League Baseball’s National League and the Playoff run.
In short, The New York Mets ended their slide with a trup home. No other team in Baseball history has lost when leading by 7 games with 14 to go. The nearest to that was in 1964 when the Phillies were ahead by 6.5 games with 12 games to go. I guess it’s justice when the team that overtook the Mets turned out to be the Phillies. A team that celebrated their 10,000th lost this season, the first to ever record that many franchise losts.
The Cubs and the Arizona Diamondbacks won their divisions, although the Diamondbacks kinda did back into it. Since after 162 games the San Diego Padres and the Colorado Rockies ended the season tied, each of them one game behind the Diamondbacks. It took Colorado winning two against Arizona and the Padres losing two against the Milwaukee Brewers for this to happen.
It’s one more game added to the season for the Padres and Rockies.
