Frozen Espresso Martini

13th May 2025

Yep, you read that right, let’s make a Frozen Espresso Martini!

No, this isn’t a dream; we have created the cocktail of the season! If you love the classic Espresso Martini, this frozen twist will make you even more obsessed. Let’s go!

Frozen Espresso Martini

When were frozen cocktails invented?

Would you believe us if we said they date back allll the way to the Roman Empire (well, kind of). They used snow and a mix of fruit juices to add flavour, so it was more like a snow cone. But, we have to give them some credit for combining the two and paving the path. However, it wasn’t until the invention of the frozen margarita machine in 1971 that the icy cocktails we know today were born.

Adapted from a soft serve ice cream machine, these were revolutionary for mass cocktail making. Rather than having to blend per order, this machine mass-produced the cocktails, saving time and resources! Nowadays, you will see machines like this in your local cinema and supermarket. But don’t worry, you don’t need one of these for this recipe, a blender will do!

How is this better than the original Espresso Martini?

Whenever we need a taste tester at Two Chimps HQ, Lianne is always our go-to person for the job:

“I love how it adds a fun twist to the classic recipe, and since it is made from frozen coffee cubes, you don’t have to worry about it getting watered down as it melts. You’re just left with a deliciously chilled version of the Espresso Martini! The only downside? Charlotte only made enough for one!”

So now it’s got Lianne’s seal of approval, let’s spill the beans so you can make this yourself!

Ingredients (for one serving)

50ml Vodka

250ml strong black coffee (we used a double espresso topped with water)

30ml Simple Syrup (simply combine 15g of sugar with 15g of water and heat until dissolved!)

3 Coffee Beans (optional)

Method

  1. Firstly, brew your coffee and allow it to cool. Once it has, pour into an ice cube tray, and freeze for 6 hours (or ideally overnight)
  2. Once your coffee is in the freezer, you can make your simple syrup if needed, as this also needs to be cool.
  3. Remove the coffee from the ice cube tray and place it in a blender. Then add the vodka and simple syrup.
  4. Blend until the cocktail is pale and creamy.
  5. Pour into your martini glass and enjoy!

Out of coffee but eager to try this? Don’t worry! We always ship our coffee with Tracked24 delivery, ensuring it arrives in your Martini glass as soon as possible!
